7th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology, India (SFEC 2020)


Dear Friends.

The 7th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology, India (SFEC 2020) is being organized by School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India in association with Society for Ethnopharmacology, India during February 15-17, 2020 at New Delhi, India. This congress will focus on "Ethnopharmacology in development of scientifically validated quality products from Medicinal plants and Regulatory aspects”. This congress will be highlighting on several crucial and contemporary issues on the Ethnomedicine, Ethnopharmacology and medicinal plant research and regulatory related aspects by the renowned scientists throughout the globe. This will provide an ideal platform to the participants to present their research work, interact, debate and disseminate ideas amongst the distinguished professionals, eminent scientists, technologist, industrialist and traditional health care professionals. Established in 1989, Jamia Hamdard (JH) is an institution for higher education located in New Delhi, India. It is a Government funded Deemed to be University primarily known for its Pharmacy, Medicine and Engineering programs. Jamia Hamdard is ranked among top 20 Universities of India by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2019, Govt of India and has been accredited in 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India. The University offers graduate postgraduate programs in Medicine, Pharmacy, Unani Medicine, Nursing, Science, Computer Applications, Management, Allied Health Sciences, Law and other disciplines. JH is pioneer in initiating integrated research for modern and traditional streams of science. School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (SPER) is one of the oldest and most reputed Pharmacy Institute of India and Ranked #1 amongst the Pharmacy Schools of country (NIRF 2019) Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India. Currently, the school offers post graduate and PhD programs in all major branches of pharmaceutical sciences in addition to diploma and undergraduate courses in Pharmacy. The School has advanced infrastructural and instrumental facilities like TEM, NMR, LC-MS/MS, GCMS, HPLC, HPTLC, SFE etc and other state-of-art laboratories like Bioactive Natural Products Laboratory and Nanomedicine Laboratory etc. All the four departments of SPER are DST-FIST sponsored and are actively involved in research as evident from the publications in reputed journals. The School has published more than 800 research papers in SCI indexed journals and filed more than 25 patents in last five years with more than 20,000 citations and H index of more than 67. Currently, SPER is having more than ten crore rupees grant in different sponsored research projects and more than one crore in consultancy projects. Department of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry is one of the premier department of the School and supported by SAP-II grant of UGC, Govt. of India. Department is offering M Pharm and PhD in Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. It has several research collaborations with Industries (Hamdard, Dabur, Aimil etc) and institutions in India and abroad (NCNPR, University of Mississippi, USA; University of Khartoum, Sudan; INN University, Norway etc). Society for Ethnopharmacology, India is a registered under the West Bengal Society Registration act and also affiliated to the International Society for Ethnopharmacology. The society was formed in 2013 and has made its presence through the country, which provides networking opportunity for development and promotion of medicinal plants and ethnopharmacology. The Society works on dissemination of knowledge in this area through different local chapters made in different parts of India with the major highlights on “Globalizing local knowledge and localizing global technologies.” For further details please visit: www.ethnopharmacology.in

International Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE) is an International scientific organization of researchers dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the pharmacological actions of plants, animals, insects, and other organisms used in medicines of indigenous and modern, past and present cultures. The major objective of the ISE is to promote Ethnopharmacology as a scientific field of research. The Journal of Ethnopharmacology is dedicated to the exchange of information and understandings about people’s use of natural products and their bio-prospecting.
