The Founder

Centre of Excellence in Unani Medicine (Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology), Bioactive Natural Product Laboratory, SPER, Jamia Hamdard has instituted this award for Young Researchers in the field of Traditional/Unani Medicine/Natural product research for drug discovery in the memory of Late Hakeem Abdul Hameed Sb, Founder Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard.

To recognize and encourage the young talented scientists/researchers/scholars from academia and industry working in any area of Traditional/Unani Medicine/Natural product research including quality control, pharmacology etc. or any other research related to the promotion and development of Unani and other traditional medicine.

CRITERIA OF SELECTION

The selection will be limited to the delegates of the international conference, who will register for the conference and get their paper accepted for oral presentation. Participants engaged in research in any field of Traditional Medicine/ Natural product research, up to the age of 45 years, are eligible.

Three best Poster & Oral presentations will be awarded based on the relevance of work and quality of presentation during the conference, where the presentations will be judged by the experts from different areas, as decided by scientific committee.

The Award carries a Memento and a Certificate.

The Conference will explore and highlight the convergence between ancient wisdom and modern scientific developments in the realm of traditional medicine. It will provide a dynamic platform for discussions on ethnopharmacology, integrative healthcare systems, evidence-based validation of traditional formulations their global regulatory trends and medicinal plants. Major themes of the conference include the role of traditional medicine in managing non-communicable diseases, advances in herbal drug standardization and quality control, innovative dosage form development, as well as the integration of technologies such as network pharmacology, metabolomics, and AI-assisted data analytics in traditional medicine research. The scientific program will feature plenary sessions, keynote addresses by renowned international and national experts, oral and poster presentations, panel discussions, industry connect, Ayush health mela, and young researcher awards. This event is an excellent opportunity for scholars, practitioners, industry professionals, and students to share research findings, network, and build collaborations.

The Centre of Excellence in Unani Medicine (Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology) is a state-ofthe-art research facility at the School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. CoE in Unani Medicine is funded by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, and is dedicated for conducting advanced scientific investigations on Traditional Unani Medicine under AyurswasthyaYojana Scheme. The Centre maintains valuable research collaborations with renowned industries, including Hamdard, Dabur, Aimil, DolcasBotanosys Pvt Ltd, Tulip Lab Pvt. Ltd. India, Avitech Nutrition Pvt. India, AyuSwasthPvt. Ltd. Additionally, we have established collaborative partnerships with educational institutions both within India and abroad, including NCNPR at the University of Mississippi (USA) and the University of Khartoum (Sudan), as well as St Petersburg University, Russia, etc. CoE in Unani Medicine hosts over 25 research scholars, including postdoctoral fellows, Ph.D. candidates, and master's students. With ongoing projects worth more than 15 crores, it has successfully acquired modern sophisticated equipment through project grants. Society for Ethnopharmacology (SFE) Society for Ethnopharmacology, India is a registered body under the West Bengal Society Registration Act and is affiliated to the International Society for Ethnopharmacology. The society was formed in 2012 and has made its presence felt with different activities throughout the country, for development and promotion of medicinal plants and ethnopharmacology. Society has organized 25 international events in different parts of India and abroad. This multidisciplinary program will address several crucial research issues for the promotion and development of the natural products, especially from medicinal plants. A series of keynote and plenary lectures by internationally renowned scientists in the field of medicinal plant research will focus on specific key areas. SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS:SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

Abstracts are invited from the scientific community from research scholars for oral, poster presentations and from young faculty/investigators for short lectures. All the accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book and remain available online and in hardcopy.

INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS

  • The presenting author must be a registered delegate.
  • Abstracts should only be submitted via google form.
  • Abstracts should be original work.
  • All abstracts must be in English language and typed in Times New Roman, 12 font.
  • Submit the abstracts as per the format, which includes Title of the abstract, Authors and co-authors and their affiliations (Underline the presenting author’s name and indicate the author affiliation with superscript numbers).
  • Abstracts should be structured including background, objective, methodology, results, and conclusion along with 3-5 keywords.
  • Word limit for the abstract is 250 words.
  • The acceptance for oral/poster presentations will be sent through mail within 03 days of submission
  • Poster dimension should be 4 feet in height and 3 feet in width.

OBJECTIVE

To recognize and encourage the young talented scientists/ researchers from academia and industries working in the field of Ethnopharmacology, Traditional Medicine and Medicinal plant Research or research findings related to the promotion and development of medicinal plants and natural product research.

CRITERIA OF SELECTION:

This following criteria should be followed:

  • Applicant should have active membership of Society for Ethnopharmacology, India and International Society for Ethnopharmacology.
  • The selection will be limited to the registered delegates of the Annual Congress of SFE and their original research paper based abstract should be accepted for oral presentation.
  • Any participants engaged in research in any field of Ethnopharmacology and Medicinal Plants up to the age of 40 years.
  • Selection of the participants for the competition will be based on the abstracts which has been submitted by Young researchers and accepted for oral presentation in the annual SFE congress

Pre Convention Workshop will be organized before Conference on 29 October, 2025 at Auditorium, Centre of Excellence in Unani Medicine (Pharmacognosy and Pharmacology). Mere registration does not guarantee the selection because of limited number of seats (50).
